Interview with Ashish Ranjan (Author of Love... Will find its way?)

A book comes out in market and within few hours, vanishes from the Amazon, sold out! That's the introduction of Ashish Ranjan for you. A debutant whose book, 'Love... Will find its way?' is creating miracles over online market.
Let's hear him up about his journey of writing and some personal stuffs.

*****

  • So , let's start with introduction of yours, in your own words..

Hi. This is a simple boy hailing from a simple place, Patna. I am an engineer by profession and an author by passion. Apart from writing, I like playing cricket, travelling and listening songs.

  • Tell us something about your educational qualifications / school ,college life

I have done my engineering from SOE, CUSAT in year 2012. The college lies in Kochi, Kerala.
I have done my matriculation from DAV public school and intermediate from Ishan international public school. Both schools are in my native place, Patna only.

  • How did writing happened to you?

I started writing during my college days just to engage myself. The incomplete file was trashed in some folder, as I got imbibed into the thrills of engineering days. When I entered in profession life, I came into contact with some of my old schoolmates. We gossiped about my left-out work. Few of them persuaded me to complete the work but even then, I did not take the advices seriously.
One day, I came across a headline of a newspaper about a suicide case. The lovers committed suicide because their parents did not heed to their request of inter-caste marriage. Although such news is not rare in our country but when a photo of the dead body of the couple was updated on a social networking site, I was shivered. From then I did not look back and decided firmly to complete the work for all those guys who ruin their career just for the sake of their love.
I did not stop in between as I wanted to give a strong message to Indian parents also, who just want to see their ward’s name on the top of a merit list, without bothering about the root cause of their failures.
I hope the novel will bring a paradigm shift in thinking process of our society.

  • What was your parents reaction when you told your parents that you want to be a writer?

Heehaw. I never told them that I want to become a writer. Actually my dad always wanted to see me as an IAS officer. I even attempted, but figured out soon that it is not my destiny. They were aware that I was writing something but were incognizant of the exact content and the theme. Nevertheless, I got full support from them.

  • You have been working in IOCL and contrary to that you wrote a novella based on love saga. usually people of your profession write something on serious issues .. would you like to comment on this?

Few stereotypes need to be changed. All government servants are not rude! Moreover, love is not confined to a specific bunch of people. Almost everyone go through love-stage, sometime in their life. The novel is just an effort to make all recall their first love; true love.

  • Tell us something about your debut novel “love will find its way”?

The novel is about a boy, Luv who is torn apart between love, lust, friendship and career. As he grows up, his heart and mind fights and he shuttles between love and lust. He gets tangled into a vortex of love, lust, friendship and career. Pressure from parents continues for achieving good marks. He feels deserted and doubts on the greatness of Indian culture.
Will he commit suicide or succumb? Will his parents guide him as a friend? Will his ‘love’ stand for him?
Answers of all such questions will be unveiled in this fiction.

  • How was your experience of working with leadstart publishers?

Leadstart publishers are one of the biggest publishing houses in India. They added feather in amateur dreams of mine and were supporting enough.

  • The protagonist somehow got inspired from your own life or a pure fiction?

30% inspiration from own life and 70% fiction!

  • According to you what was the most difficult part of writing?

Writing was fun. Difficult part was its editing.

  • From penning down the story to writing this interview, how has your journey been so far?

Neither too smooth nor too rough! Many persons left and few came, but I continued my effort for those who ruin their lives for the sake of getting their love.

  •  So, in your own life, does love finds its way or still searching?

Whether love find its way on its own or not, I’m still unclear of it. As far as my personal life is concerned, I want to keep it personal. Sorry, for now..:)
  • Any piece of suggestion from your end for your fellow writers

Profession life is for livelihood but if writing is your passion don’t leave it midway. At least give a shot and let’s not repent in future! It is not about name and fame but it’s all about self satisfaction.

  • Any suggestion / message from your side for your readers / friends

If you find the novel inspiring enough, please convey the message in your family and surroundings. You need to define your priority list, as your future is just guided accordingly. It’s tough to figure out your destiny easily but effort must go on in its search.

  • Would you like to share some details of your future project with your readers ?

I am yet to start working on my second novel but the theme is more or less clear.
It will again constitute love related matters juiced up with common but unspoken problems like domestic violence, social stigma, etc.

This is it. Hope you have enjoyed our session with Ashish Ranjan. Keep following the blog for more. Stay Updated.

Interview with Aditti Gaur (Author of Adhira)

Another interview with another awesome author. Let's have a closer look at Aditti gaur's life, some personal and some professional stuff about her. It's gonna be interesting ride, so please fasten your seat belts.

  • So, tell us something about yourself…
I was born in Delhi but my complete upbringing was done in Meerut (U.P) and right now I reside in Gurgaon with my life partner. I am a straight-forward person who loves to share views about everything I like; also I love listening music apart from writing. I have a past experience of working with a leading DTH company for almost 5-6 years. But then I thought that same 9 to 6 job was something which I don’t look for myself, so I preferred to choose my passion of writing & engaged myself in writing articles on my website.

  • Tell us about your school life and your college life and any one such instance where you realized that you want to be a storyteller/ writer.

There is nothing much interesting about my school and college life. I used to be a shy girl during those days. A little introvert person which I am still is. My reserved nature led me to the hobby of diary writing. I love to write whatever was circulating in my mind. I love to burn emotions in my diaries. Sometimes they are through daily routines and sometimes they are in form of poems. But, I quit my hobby some year ago when I got married. I never thought of becoming a storyteller or a writer until one fine day when my husband and I were discussing something and he instantly realized that I could be a good storyteller.

  • How did you come up with your current story?

This whole journey of creating and writing this book starts with a thought. A single thought which came to my mind when I was reading some newspaper article on the ongoing dilemma and situations of our women in society. A thought which makes me feel isolated from the society and its rituals. It’s not like I don’t obey them. I respect our traditions and our culture too. But, a thought always troubles me that why our women are still so vulnerable in our society despite of build-up such a respected position of themselves in this male dominating society.
My girl “Adhira” is nothing but just a face of a girl in our society. Short example of the complexities our girl’s are facing in today’s society and how they overcome from them.  I hadn’t penned down this story with the motif that someday I’ll publish this as a whole book. It was the decision of my husband, who thought that this story should come out and reach people. And that’s how this journey start.

  • Any one such thing/ place / person which inspires you to write.

My love for books inspires me to write.

  • Any one such review [negative or positive] which you will never forget.

Not any review. But yes, I am not good with my grammatical skills and my partner used to criticize me when doing the first editing. His criticism had done a major part in showing me the correct path to improve my flaws.

  • Is your story inspired by any person in real?

No, my story and the characters are totally a fiction. They only belong with the world I created for them.

  • Who is that one person who always pushed you to write and had been your pillar during your ups and downs?

It has been and always be my husband, who cooperated very nicely with me during this time. He has been my first pillar of strength, motivation and inspiration.

  • How often do you read and who is that one author who has inspired you to write? Or who is your favorite author?

There are many. Each one has changed according to the phases of life. Like, I loved to read Charles Dickens when I was in school. Shakespeare in my teenage days. And now, list gets increased with some more names like Sidney Sheldon, Jane Austen and many classic storytellers. They all are my favourite ones. But in our Indian Authors, my personal favorite is our very own Ravinder Singh, whose first book made me cry every time I indulge into it.

  • If you have to define yourself in 3 lines , what it would be?

I think 3 words are enough for me and that will be… fun loving, adventurous and a book wormer.

  • What is the best piece of advice you would give to someone who wants to get into writing?

The best piece of advice would be… don’t chase to be someone else, be yourself. Each of us is unique. Show your uniqueness to the world. Make your own identity instead of fitting into someone’s shoes. Write with your soul because the words created by the soul reaches the hearts. Try to write in simple words because readers love them most instead of the ones whose meanings are either makes us run for the dictionary or Google.
  • Any suggestion or any message from your end for your readers or well wishers.

First of all… A huge thank you to those guys who purchased it or willing to purchase in coming days.
Just one request I want to make to my readers that please read this book with your heart not by your mind. I haven’t written this story to reach up to certain level or stand in competitions. In-fact, I wrote this to reach your hearts.

  • When you held the first paperback copy of your novel , how did you feel ?

That was an amazing feeling. It was like a dream come true. It was something like having a part of you is in your hand.

  • Do you wish to continue writing your current genre or will you change it ever in future?

I haven’t planned anything for future. It depends on the lovely readers, if they want me to write in the same genre, I’ll surely do. But as I said earlier I write whatever comes in my mind, so you never know!

  • Whenever you face writer block , what usually you do?

I simply surrender myself to music, preferably gazals, and get lost in their magical world.

  • Any one place whose serene beauty persuades you to write ?

I always love hills. Their serene beauty and serenity fascinates me.

Interview with Diptendu Chakraborty (Author of 3 @ a Time)

A book that is creating lot's of hype and is currently ranking awesome over the Amazon's Indian Writing chart and is ranked 3rd amongst the top 50 bestsellers in a recent survey by an online magazine, '3 @ a time', is surely a book to look for in future.
Today we have a debut author, Diptendu Chakraborty with us to talk about his book '3 @ a time'. Let's have a look at it.

*******

  • Tell us something about yourself and your background.

I am an author from heart and a marketer from soul. I did my schooling from various states of India since my dad was serving in the Army. I am the only child of my parents.
Currently I am working with Toyota in Muscat.

  • When did you start writing?

Writing as a habit was cultivated since childhood as unlike others I was an extremely quiet and well-mannered kid. However, things and proceedings that i used to observe and wanted to express were actually conveyed through my pen on a diary which i maintained till my graduation. It contains all the activities, accomplishments, en devours that has happened throughout my life from childhood.
Though, I never thought that one day all my fantasies would be transformed into a novel but a little encouragement from my friends and my colleagues who read my short stories gave me the confidence to pen down a novel.
I started the novel in August 2014 and finished it by January 2015.

  • What type of audience you think will get attracted towards your novel?
Although my book is college based story, but there is no target audience for my book. “3 @ a time”. It has all the elements for the audience of all age groups.

  • What are the challenges that you faced while writing your debut novel?
The toughest part was to merge different stories together and make it a single story with some permutations and combinations.
Moreover, to describe some places in detail i had to personally visit those places and experience the aura of those places.

  • How difficult was it for you to balance your passion and personal / professional life?
All my friends and colleagues including my boss helped me a lot to fulfill my passion. So as far as maintaining a balance between my passion and personal/professional is concerned, I would say it was a cakewalk.

  • If you have to describe you in 3 words, what would it be?
Imperfect, Unfaithful and completely Livid. But people love crazy than being boring.

  • Any favorite scene from your book ? Why?
The entire book is my personal favorite. However, if I have to choose then the scene where all the three girls confront the protagonist and he’s left with no option but to face all three of them together.

  • What do you have in store next for your readers?
Currently I am working on a poetry book called "Lonely shadows". It consists of story based poems and i am sure i will get the same amount of love and affection from my readers as i got for my first book. However in future i would like to compose a murder thriller and diversify my inscription.

  • Who inspired you to write and who is that one person who stood beside you during your best and worst times?
As far as inspiration is concerned, I always looked up to Stephen king and Rudyard Kipling as my inspiration. My parents were always there to support me bad and worst times.

  •  Any one such review / any piece of advice you have received as a writer , till date?
I have received a lot of reviews till date however my favorite being given by a reviewer where she mentioned that “I would love to see a sequel to 3 @ a time.”

  • According to you , how important is the characterization of characters and book?
The characters of a novel are extremely important for the development of the story which follows up with developing scenes and the mind frame of the characters which includes their attitude, strengths, weaknesses and most important of all their ambitions.

  • Except writing ,what is that one thing which fascinates you the most?
Dancing and choreographing are the two things that fascinate me apart from writing. In fact I used to be a choreographer during my engineering days.

  • Tell us some of your memories which are associated with this book?
I had to visit the onsite location which included those of Khandala and Lonavla to experience the nature’s paradise and to formulate the scene between the characters for my book. Visiting those places was a fantastic and mind blowing experience in itself.
1
  •  What importance Do reviews and social media holds for writers?
Reviews and Social media are the two most important aspects which make or break a novel for a writer as audience decide to purchase based on reviews and social media acts as the best promotional and advertising tool for the audience.

  • Any success mantra for the upcoming writers?
Just follow your instincts to carve and compose your stories, articles and poems. Never worry about them getting published or getting good reviews, just write for the fun of writing and your follow your passion. If you have good story no one can stop your stories from reaching every corner of the world.

  • Any piece of advice from your end for your readers/ wellwishers/ friends
Please go through my novel and shower your love with your views and feedbacks. It will help me improve not only as a writer but also as a human being.

What indeed is true love? What is that strange secret that locks all the circumstances together?

Travel with Ananya to the picturesque Sreepuram, face the chaos of Bengaluru, and relish the warmth of magical Dubai in this heartwarming tale of love, betrayal, friendship, and miracles.

BOOK REVIEW

Without You is the love story of Ananya and Arjun. Ananya fell in love with Arjun during her vacations at grandmother’s house but something terrible happens between them because of which Ananya decides to end up their relationship and move on without him, though she still loved him a lot.

The story proceeds with Ananya as emotionally broken girl. Dreams that she had, were shattered and the life seems to be having no direction to move on. But the true love finds you every time you try to hide from the life, the same happens with Ananya.

The story is fast paced and the writing style of Author is brilliant. Characterization of each character had required depth and the description of each scene made the book alive in reader’s mind. The language used and the narration of the book is what I enjoyed the most while reading the book.

Being the simple love story, it’s difficult to stand out when so many other books are competing on the same genre, yet this book stands among the top because of small elements that makes the book special. Unexpected turns, side stories and brilliant writing, did the trick for the book.

I would like to recommend this book to every lover who loves to read about true love. My rating for the book is 4/5.

THE LAST SURGE - BOOK REVIEW

ABOUT THE BOOK
"...the day we face each other, she will be sorry; sorry for rendering me emotionally impotent. And that will be my victory." Their blazing courtship was nearing marriage, before fate played its vicious card. Rimi dumped Gabriel and married the choice of her family but Gabriel decided to remain single. Why did Rimi take such a drastic decision? How did Gabriel keep up his single hood? Did they meet again or did fate succeed in keeping them apart? How does Sneha fit into the picture? Crafted with the characteristic flavors of Bengal, THE LAST SURGE brings you the tale of an ace football player turned relationship counselor and what made this protagonist a great brother, a greater father and an even greater romantic.

BOOK REVIEW

Now a days Indian Writers are busy in describing tales about love only but still there are some books that do indulges in the same genre but are still refreshing when comes to the way it is being narrated and sometimes unusual twists with the plot provides the cherry on the cake.
The last Surge being the debutant work of Pramit Sarkar successfully makes a place in the hearts of his readers. The best part of the book is the freshness that comes as the intelligent writing style of the author. It's unique and interesting as well.
The story of Gabriel Hopkins and Rimi Chakraborty is pretty touching and does leaves a long impact on reader's heart. Some love stories are meant to stay and seep in your memory for long time. Some stories are immortal and their love story is one of them.
The Last Surge is emotionally overloaded and may leave you with wet eyes in the end, so be prepared.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading the book and would like to rate it 4/5 .

Light Denied by Mangala - Book Review

A simple story that could motivate and keep you emotionally attached with the protagonist, not because of her disability but because of her courage that was motivated in her by her world around in form of friends and family, is what comprises the overall plot of Light Denied.

Light Denied is the story of ‘Mukhi’ who is blind since her birth. The problems she faces in daily life, her thoughts, her own world, her family and friends and most importantly, her fight with herself, is what the author has tried to portray with her simple and effective narration.

The one character which stands out of the story is Mukhi’s grandmother. Her image would remain in your memory for sure even after putting the book back in the shelf after finishing it.

The book never loses the grip over the audience, from start to finish. Though the plot is very simple but still the author’s magic has worked in keeping the hold.

I would rate it 3.5/5 stars.

ABOUT THE BOOK
Milton wants to question God as to whether God will still demand excellence of him even after taking away his eyesight. The heroine of story Viswathomukhi also has the same question to God. She strives and struggles in the society which sees disability as a liability and awards a negative value to it. We come across many examples of this kind in our daily life. We never lend our ears or hands to these people in our selfish and materialistic battle in life.

The story revolves around loving grandparents, especially the mental strength of the granny, the beautifully woven friendship, the dedicated teachers and Mukhi’s struggle. Did she win her battle in life? Read this wonderful book to know the real meaning of humanity and love.

Hidden Husband by Shikha Kaul - Book Review

World seems to be changing around us but still we do have to travel a pretty long distance when it comes to choosing our life partner in our society. On the same plot runs the story of Hidden Husband. A ‘legitimate’ marriage of a couple but still hidden from the society. The story revolves round Aisha’s love life with Raghav. After finishing the novel you did feel bad for them but author played a great trick at the end. She left the story on a pretty good point which will surely leave a smile on your face.

Shikha Kaul has written the story in very simple language and the narration of the story is pretty commendable, keeping this at mind that the author is debuting with this novel.

There are few points in books which actually make the reader clinch the book tightly and eyebrows rise up automatically. I would surely recommend this book to everyone who wants to read good literature and a refreshing story. I loved the characterization of all the character but especially Aisha because it was easy to connect with her.

I will rate this book 4/5.

ABOUT THE BOOK:
Aisha is trapped in her own secret which makes her life hell.
Her love for Raghav is true. But hailing from two very different cultures is the basis of their continued friction. Aisha is a Punjabi girl from Gurgaon and Raghav a Bihari from Ranchi. And then they take a step which entangles her life further.
Will she manage to come out of this quandary or must she continue to live in her self-created web? Explore her journey that makes her realise the atrocities being committed on women in the Indian society and the tough decisions she must take, keeping her most loved ones oblivious to everything happening in her life.

Asha Ke Pankh by Neelam Saxena Chandra - Book Review

Asha Ke Pankh, as the name suggests is based on motivation. This is the collection of motivations poems written by various poets contributing to Hindi Literature but major portion is of Neelam ma'am. Every poem speaks to you and wants to wake you up out of that depressed state of yours and want you to stand against all the odds standing in front of you. Some of the poetries are so brilliantly written that you need some time to come back to real world and swallow the hues around you.

I would surely love to recommend this book to everyone who loves to read Hindi Poetry. This collection is worth reading. I'll rate this 4.5/5.

ABOUT THE BOOK:

ASHA KE PANKH is a collection of 75 inspirational poems by the well known poet Neelam Saxena Chandra. It also features poems of guest poets such as Uma Jhunjhunwala, Ruchhita Kazaria and Anup Jalan. Eight poems were selected from an all India contest and they are also a part of the book.

Things End But Memories Last Forever BY Kumar Milan - Book Review

Things end but memories last forever is one book that reminds of school days, that friendship, first love and the madness of teenage. The starts in a great pace which seems to be pretty vague because many events seems to be skipped. Narration is brilliantly done, dialogues are beautifully crafted. The only drawback about the book is it's editing and the writing style of the author. My verdict about the book would be 'a great story that fell flat because of technicalities.'

I would rate the book 3 out of 5 and will surely wait for the next book of the author because I can see the potential of the author that will surely be coming out in next ventures. I wish him great future.

ABOUT THE BOOK:

Have you ever:
Been in true love? Not love at first sight but love at every sight?
Met the love of your life after 4 years only to lose her again?
Faced a psycho stalker?
Messed with family of cops?
Get caught boozing by none other than your mom on your own birthday?

Well, if this excites you even a bit, this would be an enthralling read for you.
